Workshops and Tours

In keeping with the theme of “Making History Interactive,” the last session of each day will be devoted to workshops and tours. Workshops will be focused on demonstrations related to software, equipment, and approaches relevant to cultural heritage. Unlike standard paper sessions, the workshops will be more interactive in keeping with the theme of the conference. Participants will be able to see demos, ask questions, and in some cases to test the product or technique.

During the last session of each day, behind-the-scenes tours with Colonial Williamsburg staff will also be offered. Participants will have the opportunity to visit the Foundation’s archaeology lab, to explore the town’s architecture, or to learn about the ongoing process of rebuilding of Richard Charlton’s Coffeehouse, the first major reconstruction on the Duke of Gloucester Street in 50 years.

Workshops and tours will be limited in number. The workshop and tour options as well as information on how to register for these exciting opportunities for CAA participants will be posted when the conference registration system goes online in the fall.
